On the 15th of December 1966 Walt Disney died of lung cancer. He was 65 years old.
The company (and the world) was thrown into grief and turmoil. For many, a world without Walt Disney was unthinkable.
After Walt's death, his older brother Roy came out of retirement to take leadership of the company. The Walt Disney Company still remains strong to this day, but after the death of its founder and leader, things would never be the same again.
